Meagan Roberts played a limited summer schedule in 2012 highlighted by shooting 161 at the 110th North & South Amateur Championship in Pinehurst, N.C., in mid-July.
Roberts took part in four events in the summer of 2010. She opened with a pair of qualifiers first from the U.S. Women’s Open followed by the U.S. Women’s Amateur. She moved on the North & South Amateur Championship posting an 81 and took part in the inaugural Hooter Women’s Collegiate Team Championship with Razorback teammate Victoria Vela.
Roberts got a jump start bonding with her Razorback teammates playing in the 79th Women’s Trans National Golf Association Amateur Championship in Loudon, Tenn. Roberts carded a 167 in the stroke play portion of the tournament.
As a Senior (2012-13)
Roberts made the traveling team for two events as a senior in 2012-13. She opened the year at the Old Waverly Invitational shooting a 10-over 226 to tie for 21st overall. Roberts was again in the lineup for the Lady Bulldog Individual Championship at the University of Georgia Golf Course, shooting an 80 for the one-round event.
For her career, Roberts averaged 78.27 per round playing in 22 rounds and eight touranments. Her lowest round was a 72 carded in her senior season. Her best finish is a tie for 20th, also as a senior.
As a Junior (2011-12)
Roberts made three appearances in the Razorback lineup as a junior in 2011-12. Roberts first appeared in the season opener at the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview shooting 235 with a season-best 74 in the final round. She returned to the lineup for the final fall event carding a 234 at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and appeared again in the first spring event in Puerto Rico. There, Roberts posted a 74 in the second round tying her season low.
As a Sophomore (2010-11)
Roberts made the cut for a pair of events with the Razorbacks as a sophomore in 2010-11. Roberts opened the season with the team in the first event of the year at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic posting a career-best finish with a tie for 24th overall. Roberts shot a career-best 232 (77-75-60) at the event. She also took part in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown shooting 235 (82-73-80) where she shot her collegiate best round with a 73 on the second day.
In the classroom, Roberts earned her second selection to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll and is a multiple semester member of the Razorback Athletic Department Academic Honor Roll.
As A Freshman (2009-10)
Roberts competed in one event as a true freshman in 2009-10, taking part in the Kinderlou Challenge in Valdosta, Ga. She helped Arkansas to a 13th-place finish while carding a 20-over 239. Her scorecard included rounds of 77-83-79 with 77 standing as her then-best collegiate round. Roberts was selected to the Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor roll as well as the Razorback Athletic Department Academic Honor Roll in 2010.
Prior to Arkansas
Roberts is an Ocean Springs, Miss., native where she won the 2009 Mississippi High School State Championship. She shot a record-setting nine-under 135 (68-67) in two rounds capturing medalist honors. Roberts’ most recent win came at the Mississippi Girls Junior State Amateur Championship with an even par 144 (74-70). Roberts earned Female Athlete of the Year for Golf honors from the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame as a senior.
The winner of the 2007 AJGT Match Play Championship, Roberts was also the runner-up at the AJGT Stroke Play Tour Championship. Roberts’ prep career includes the 2008 Junior World Championship in San Diego, Calif., where she posted a third-round 70.
Born Nov. 13, 1990, Meagan Hope Roberts is one of four children to Bill and Linda Roberts of Ocean Springs, Miss. She has three older sisters, McCall, Erica and Nicole. Nicole is an Arkansas alum and is now the chief resident of internal medicine at the Medical College of Georgia.
