LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The University of Arkansas women's tennis team competed at the second day at the Country Club of Little Rock Invitational, earning three singles victories against Texas Tech, who finished last season ranked No. 21 in the nation.
Sarah McLean won her singles match, defeating Texas Tech's Sandra Dynka 6-3, 6-2. McLean is 2-0 in singles at the tournament, winning for the second straight day.
Kimberley - Ann Surin and Ana Lorena Belmar Hernandez each earned their first victories as Razorbacks. Surin defeated Texas Tech's Caroline Stark 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, and Belmar Hernandez defeated Texas Tech's Elizabeth Ullathorne 6-4, 6-7, 7-5.
"Today was an even better performance all around from the squad," said head coach Michael Hegarty. "This young team is learning fast, which is very exciting to see."
The CCLR Invitational concludes on Sunday at the Country Club of Little Rock. Arkansas will compete in doubles starting at 9 AM CST and doubles in the afternoon.
