Razorbacks open preseason practice Friday

FAYETTEVILLE – Ranked No. 1 in a pair of preseason polls, the Arkansas baseball team officially opens preseason practice on Friday at 2 p.m. at Baum Stadium.

Along with the practice on Friday, Arkansas will scrimmage on Saturday and Sunday. The scrimmages on both days are scheduled to begin at approximately 1 p.m. All Razorback practices and scrimmages are open to the public.

Arkansas will practice for three weeks before opening the 2013 season. The Razorbacks begin the season on Friday, Feb. 15, when they host Western Illinois. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. Arkansas opens the season with an eight-game home stand and 17 of the first 21 at home.

The Razorbacks have been ranked in the top three in each preseason poll released so far. Arkansas is ranked No. 1 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Collegiate Baseball poll, No. 2 in the Perfect Game poll and No. 3 in the Baseball America poll.
