FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas football head coach Bret Bielema announced his first Razorbacks signing class Wednesday in the Miller Room at the Broyles Center.
Coach Bielema took time and spoke with the media about the 2013 signing class and what he was looking for.
"First and foremost, you have to be an athlete that will fit here in Arkansas, no matter where you are coming" Coach Bielema said. "I wanted those players to fit what Arkansas is, and it's really important to me. They have to believe in the family. If I am going to get them here and talk about the Arkansas football family, I didn't want them to not know any idea of what that meant."
Coach Bielema also commented on the importance of his players commitment to the university as a student and an athlete.
"It's natural that good players are going to play good football in year one, but they are going to play their best football in year four and year five," Coach Bielema said. "This means they are going to have to go through their entire timeline here, graduate to give them a degree that they are going to have for the rest of their life. I thought that was an important part to establish."
