FAYETTEVILLE – The @RazorbackWGolf team moved up to the No. 5 spot in the most recent Golfweek.com team rankings. Sophomore Regina Plasencia is ranked No. 10 overall this week.
The Razorbacks have two fall events in the books with the third of their four events just over a week away. In the first two contests, Arkansas tied for sixth and won their first team title of the year at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate.
Plasencia, a sophomore from Guadalajara, Mexico, has the best stroke average of the fall after a fifth place showing at the Dale McNamara NCAA Fall Preview and a runner-up finish at the Mercedes Benz.
Teammate senior Emily Tubert
picked up the first individual title at the Mercedes and checks in ranked No. 15 in the country this week.
Sophomore Gabriela Lopez
is ranked No. 26 helping the Razorbacks to the team’s No. 5 ranking, their best of the young season.
The fifth-place ranking by the Razorbacks is the best among Southeastern Conference teams. Arkansas is ranked No. 8 in the country by the Golfstat.com computer rankings this week as well.
Arkansas returns to the links Oct. 11-13, at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
