FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The fifth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team continues the spring season traveling to the LSU Golf Classic at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La., Friday-Sunday.

The Razorbacks are coming off a tie for seventh place at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and are looking to move back to the top of the leaderboard this weekend.

“We are excited to get back into action this week at LSU,” Arkansas head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor said.  “This will be our fourth year in a row at this event and have worked hard this week to prepare for this championship layout.  We came back from Hilton Head and re-qualified and will be taking the same line-up as well as Olivia Lavy who will be playing as an individual.  The team is ready and we will look to put together a solid game plan during our practice on Thursday.”

Making the trip this weekend are seniors Emma Lavy and Emily Tubert, sophomores Gabriela Lopez and Reginia Plasencia and freshman Summar Roachell, along with redshirt freshman Oliva Lavy.

Arkansas led wire-to-wire picking up a team title at this event last season.  Tubert emerged as the medalist shooting 216 with consistent rounds of 72-72-72.  Lopez tied for 16th overall with a 228 followed by Lavy tied for 23rd with 230.  Plasencia carded a 230 and was 27th for the Razorbacks.

This week’s field includes No. 16 Central Florida, No. 17 and host LSU, No. 29 Kentucky, No. 33 Tulane, No. 38 Denver, No. 42 Notre Dame, No. 47 Southern Methodist, No. 52 Baylor, No. 53 TCU, No. 62 Purdue, No. 70 UTSA, No. 80 Missouri, No. 124 Louisiana-Monroe and No. 142 UNC-Wilmington.  The tournament begins with 8:30 a.m. central tee times Friday and Saturday and an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.
