FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The home opener for the Arkansas baseball team scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 18. First pitch for the twinbill will be 12:05 pm.
Cold temperatures and wind chills in the low 20s made conditions unfavorable to the Saturday contest.
As construction proceeds at Baum Stadium, the left field picnic area known as the Hog Pen will be open for Sunday's game. Crews began sodding the area on Friday afternoon and were expected to finish late Saturday. The area will not have any picnic tables or grills for the next two home weekends. Due to liability reasons, outside grills cannot be brought into the stadium. All fans wishing to sit in the new Hog Pen will need to enter through Gate A and proceed down the 3rd base concourse.
Tickets to the postponed Friday game will be honored for Monday's 1:05 pm game. Fans must have a Sunday ticket for the Sunday doubleheader.
