OUTLOOK: A former starter, he is listed second on the pre-season depth chart at right end, but he will compete for the starting position in fall camp. If he is not starting, he will still see considerable playing time, helping make the defensive line perhaps the strongest unit on the team. He is an accomplished pass rusher with extensive game experience. He did not have any tackles in the Red-White Spring Game, but was a playmaker in the two other scrimmages. In the first scrimmage, he had five tackles with four solos. He had three sacks for 11 yards in losses and returned a fumble 15 yards. In the second scrimmage, he had two tackles, two tackles for loss (-10), one sack (-9) and a pass broken up. Quick off the edge, in 28 career games, he has 23 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, 15 passes broken up and he’s scored three touchdowns on interception (two) and fumble returns.
2007: He played in all 13 games with six starts. His starts were in consecutive games against Alabama, Kentucky, North Texas, Chattanooga, Auburn and Ole Miss. He had 35 tackles with 23 solo stops. He also had 5.5 TFL (-44), 3.0 sacks (-37), 12 quarterback hurries, seven passes broken up, a forced fumble, one interception and 30-yard return and one recovered fumble with a 16-yard return. – Robinson notched 37 snaps in a backup role in the season opener. He made four total tackles with three solo stops. Robinson also knocked down an Omar Haugabook pass and had a quarterback hurry. He started his first game of the season at Alabama and gave the Hogs a consistent pass rush off the right edge. He drew two holding calls on the Crimson Tide’s heralded left tackle Andre Smith. Robinson made five tackles with one TFL (-4), a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries in 74 snaps vs. Alabama. He registered his first sack of the season against Kentucky’s Andre Woodson, dropping the All-America candidate for an eight-yard loss. Robinson also scooped up a Woodson fumble and returned it 16 yards for his second career touchdown in the first quarter. He finished the UK game with two solo tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery and two pass break ups. Robinson made two tackles in 34 snaps vs. North Texas as the Hogs cruised to a 66-7 win. Robinson logged four solo tackles vs. Chattanooga with 1.5 TFL (-17), his second sack of the season (-16) and forced a fumble. He was very active from his defensive end spot vs. Auburn with two quarterback hurries, a pass deflection, two tackles and a TFL (-2). Robinson deflected one Seth Adams pass and made six tackles as the Razorbacks routed Ole Miss 44-8. Against FIU, he did not make a tackle, but did bat down his fifth pass of the season and register a quarterback hurry. Robinson had an assisted tackle and three quarterback hurries vs. South Carolina in 35 snaps. Robinson had one assisted tackle in 20 snaps at Tennessee. He had two solo tackles and a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown on 31 snaps vs. Mississippi State. He made three solo tackles and swatted down two Matt Flynn passes in Arkansas’ 50-48 triple-overtime win at No. 1 LSU. Against Missouri in the Cotton Bowl, he had two solo tackles, including a 13-yard sack.
2006: Robinson emerged as a bonafide standout at defensive end for the Razorbacks. He was a member of the Ted Hendricks Award watch list and earned second-team sophomore All-America honors from CollegeFootballNews.com. League coaches named him to the second-team All-SEC squad. He started all 13 games he played in, missing only the Southeast Missouri State game on the schedule due to a nagging injury. He racked up 68 tackles, including 44 solo stops and 24 assisted tackles. His 68 tackles were among the best in the conference by defensive linemen. Robinson ranked second on the team to fellow defensive end Jamaal Anderson with 14.5 tackles for loss (-86) and 8.5 sacks (-63). He ranked fourth in the SEC and 37th in the nation in tackles for loss while ranking sixth in the league and 44th in the country in sacks. He earned at least one tackle for loss in 12 of 13 games and a sack in seven of his 13 contests. Robinson ranked third on the team with 15 quarterback hurries and he earned one forced fumble. He tallied seven pass break ups and returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown to give the Razorbacks a second-half lead against No. 4 Florida in the SEC Championship Game. – He made eight tackles, four solo, vs. No. 4 USC, including a sack (-13) of Trojans’ quarterback John David Booty. He also recorded three quarterback hurries and broke up two passes. Robinson made six tackles against Utah State with four solo stops and one tackle for loss (-1). He produced another strong effort at Vanderbilt, earning seven tackles, six solo, and his second sack (-1) of the season. Robinson caused havoc in the Alabama backfield in the Razorbacks’ 24-23 double-overtime win. He racked up 2.5 sacks (-23), eight tackles and a forced fumble that Randy Kelly returned 39 yards for a touchdown. Robinson registered seven tackles and a sack (-9) in the Hogs’ 27-10 win at No. 2 Auburn. He also broke up his third pass of the season on a screen pass that he snuffed out and then almost intercepted if not for a turnover-saving breakup by quarterback Brandon Cox. He did not play against Southeast Missouri State with a hip flexor. He returned to the field against Ole Miss, but left in the second half after spraining his ankle. He had three tackles and a TFL (-3) on 42 snaps. Robinson made a career-high 10 tackles and two tackles for loss (-11) in the Hogs’ 44-10 win over ULM on Oct. 28 in Little Rock. He did a little bit of everything at South Carolina. The sophomore made three solo tackles, including a sack for nine yards and a pass breakup. Robinson made five solo tackles and a tackle for loss (-2) in the Hogs’ 31-14 win over No. 13 Tennessee. He made four tackles and one TFL (-6) at Mississippi State. He also had two quarterback hurries. Robinson notched three solo stops and an assist against No. 9 LSU in the regular season finale. He also registered three quarterback hurries against the Tigers. Robinson sacked Florida quarterback Chris Leak and returned an intercepted shovel pass 40 yards for a touchdown in the SEC Championship Game. His interception return and score gave Arkansas a lead in the game midway through the third quarter. He also tallied two tackles and one quarterback hurry against the Gators. Robinson made one solo tackle, a TFL (-3) against No. 7 Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl. He broke up two passes and earned a quarterback hurry in the 17-14 loss to the Badgers.
2005: With the Razorbacks in need of defensive help in November, he passed on his redshirt season to play in the final three games of the 2005 campaign. He earned five tackles, including three tackles for loss (-7) in his three games of action. – He was impressive in his collegiate debut, racking up four tackles, two solo and two assists, in the Razorbacks’ win over Ole Miss. Two of his four tackles netted lost yardage (-4). He tallied a TFL for the second-consecutive game when he earned a solo tackle for loss (-3) against Mississippi State. He concluded his short rookie season against No. 3 LSU in Baton Rouge. He didn’t earn a tackle against the Tigers.
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: He injured his knee in the summer prior to his senior season and did not play for Coach Bernie Cox in 2004. As a junior, he helped lead his team to the 5A state championship. He made 60 tackles, including 21 unassisted stops, 12 sacks and eight tackles for loss in his junior campaign. He also tallied four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two pass deflections and one blocked punt. Rivals rated him the No. 7 overall prospect in Arkansas. He was No. 95 on the Mobile Press Register’s Super Southeast 120 listing. In addition to Arkansas, he was recruited by Tennessee, North Carolina, LSU and Oklahoma.
PERSONAL: Born April 20, 1986, he is the son of Bernice Robinson. He is majoring in kinesiology.
