The former world no 1 was oozing with confidence after winning the first round. In a post-match press conference, Wozniacki said that she has been healthy. The combination of her effective training and her good performances were the keys to her recent success. After this, the American broke Wozniacki ’s serve leaving Wozniacki in a tight spot to keep her hopes alive in the second set which was eventually won by Vandeweghe(2-6).

In the third set, Wozniacki was successful in returning the serves of the American and this turned the fortunes in her favour.

She has a flat forehand to her benefit .Vinci also has the ability to mix up the pace of the ball.
