Hogwired All about sports FC Goa has revealed their squad for the upcoming ISL recently. This 24 member squad was unveiled by FC Goa at the Nagoa training facility. The squad got a very warm welcome from the fans at the training center. As soon as a player’s name was announced there was a great buzz of excitement. They cheered for the players. According to reports published in Times of India, the coaching staff of FC has not approved Nagoa as a venue for a friendly match. For them it is okay for training but not good enough for a friendly match.
Romeo Fernandes, Mandar Rao Dessai, Gregory Arnolin and Rafael Coelho who are considered to very popular among the fans were greeted with a rousing welcome as they walked into the ground.
Exceptionally popular player Lucio who was chosen for the second time expressed his happiness for being able to play for FC Goa.
Lucio in a statement said that he was very happy to come back to a place like Goa where people are very passionate about the sport.
This team narrowly missed out on a win in the tournament last year. Lucio expressed confidence on this team and said that he expects his side to try even harder this year. He in a statement published in the India Today added that the FC Goa team this year will try to win the title which last year they missed out by a thin margin. Lucio said that as a squad the players are trying hard in training to become better players. He further added that FC football wants to bring joy to the fans and to the state of Goa.
It must be noted that FC Goa has released a net kit design for the third season of ISL. Umbro has confirmed to be their kit manufacturer and Deltin hotels have announced to be the principal sponsors of the kit.
FC Goa will start their first match of ISL in Guwahati where they will face NorthEast United FC on 4th October 2016. After this, they will return to their home state where they will play their second game against FC Pune City on 8th October 2016.
