Indian Ace Shuttler P.V. Sindhu Confident Of Continuing Her Form In Denmark And France

Indian ace shuttler and silver medal winner at the Rio Olympics P.V. Sindhu said that her recent success at the Rio Olympics has given her a lot of confidence and she intends to play her upcoming games without any pressure. Sindhu is slated to return to the international badminton circuit in the upcoming Denmark Open. While speaking to reporters the ace shuttler said that her life has changed a lot after she played at the Rio Olympics and her silver medal win at the Games has made her extremely happy.

She was interacting with the reporters at a beverage (Ojasvita Malt) launching event organized by Sri Sri Ayurveda. Pulella Gopichand who is the Chief National Badminton Coach was also at the event. Sindhu, commenting of her preparations for the upcoming Denmark Open, said that she had already started her practice sessions and is preparing well for the Denmark Open and French Open in Paris. She hoped that she can give her best and win.

Sindhu reasserted the fact that the silver medal from the Rio Games had given her a lot of confidence and it has also helped her to move ahead in her career. Sindhu said that she is completely aware of her responsibilities and will give her best shot at the upcoming international tournaments in Denmark and France. She further added that after her success in the Rio games expectations are very high on her. She added, “Responsibilities will always be high from now on”. Sindhu said she avoid playing under the pressure put on her by the burden of expectations and responsibilities. She wishes to just go on to the badminton courts and give her “100 percent”

The Ace Indian shuttler admitted the after she won the Olympic silver for badminton at the Rio Games the feeling of winning  the medal didn’t sink in for her for quite some time. She is now slowly coming to terms with her recent success.

As far as preparations for the next international tournaments goes Sindhu said: “everything is good”. Post her Rio Olympics success Sidhu was invited to a lot of felicitation events across India. She claimed that they are not distracting her from the game. She showed her gratitude to the people who have shown their love and affection towards her in these felicitation events.

Unlike Dipa Karmakar who has returned the car because she finds it difficult to maintain, Sindhu is enjoying driving around with her new BMW which she describes as ‘fantastic’ and ‘nice’. She, however, said Dipa’s decision was completely valid. For their recent performances in the Rio Olympic Games, Sindhu with fellow athletes Dipa Karmakar and Sakshi Malik were recently presented a BMW each by the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
