Monday 20th of February will see the future of as many as 356 cricketers in the Indian Premier League. The auction which is supposed to be held in Bangalore, will see the rich and cherished clubs fight for the best players. With almost all the teams having a core set of players ready, they will mainly be looking for certain areas where they can improve upon based on their strength and weaknesses.
The auction is one of the most interesting events. There have been instances in the auction events, where an unknown local boy has been offered a whooping sum of money, while an international well acclaimed player have been neglected by the bidders. Such instances are supposed to be more common this time, due to the area specific selection of the team managers.
Future Of 356 Players To Be Decided In IPL 2017 Auctions
Some of the most well known names that would go under the hammer on Monday are Eoin Morgan, Ishant Sharma, Ben Stokes, Mitchell Johnson, Trent Boult and many other such well known names.
The IPL is the best breeding ground of young talent and over years the league has given the world of cricket some of the best known names. It would be interesting to see which young cricketer can make their presence felt in the auctions and start off with their career in the sport.
The teams will have a total of 143 crore to spend on the players. This huge amount is not evenly distributed among all the franchises’. Talking about the amount to spend, while Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils will have the highest amount to spend, around 23 crores, Mumbai has the lest with just a tinge over 11 and a half crore.
Out of the 356 players who will go under the banner, only 76 players can be bought. Out of these 76 players, only 28 will be foreign players.
