However, the match was a bit controversial. In the very first set, the chair umpire missed the ball mark and mistakenly gave Nadal a point and thus, Goffin was denied of a 4-2 match lead in the opener. This agitated the crowd and they turned hostile to Nadal. Nadal was subjected to whistles and jeers throughout the match. However, even then, the player who had ousted second-seeded Novak Djokovic on Friday, yet failed to make his mark in the game and lost the match in two straight sets.

Talking about the match after having lost it, Goffin said that he feels that with the passing time, his results are only getting better. He also said that he thinks that he is playing better and he has more confidence. He also cited facts, stating that since the Roland Garros in 2016, he has played a final, two semi-finals, one quarter-final.

Well, it is Rafel Nadal whom one can see in action in the final match that is to be played on Sunday and he will be having Albert Ramos-Vinolas as his opponent on the clay court.
