Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to have played his last match for the Manchester United’s club in Europa League. According to the club, two players, namely Zlatan and Marco Rojo has suffered a knee injury in the same match. The statement on the official website of the club said that both the players have significant knee ligament damage and both of them will need to go through specialist opinion in the days to come.
Zlatan Played Some Outstanding Matches Before Having Knee Injury In The Match On Thursday
Talking about the recovery of the players, the statement read that the same could only be confirmed after the treatments plans are decided. The treatment plans will be decided only after the consultation.
Reportedly, both the players have suffered the knee injury in the last match that the team played, that is on Thursday against Anderlecht.
Although the Swedish striker did not have one of the best games on Thursday, but he surely has been the one who has been instrumental in helping the club go so far in the tournament. His contributions are one of the main reason behind the club’s success in the Europa League this year.
The club has qualified for the semis with a better aggregate after the extra time in the match. The club which is yet to be the title challengers ever in this particular tournament has shined on good fortune, riding on the back of the 35-years old star. His absence from the ground might surely lead to problems in the formation and might also harm the confidence of the fellow players and the fans too.
Along with the Swiss star, Rojo’s exclusion from the game will only add further blow to the team’s performance in the matches to come. Apart from these two players, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, the Englishmen who are responsible for the central defense will also be out of action till the middle of the next month. All in all, it seems that the club has hit itself with some major fitness issues.
