India Seems Well Placed At Lunch On Day 3 Of The Second Test

After some major hiccups in the very initial stages of the test match, India now seems to play some good cricket. The team has played outstanding cricket on the third day of the test match and has been able to leave their mark on the touring team, almost for the first time in this entire tournament.

The third day of the test match started with the Australian team batting at 237 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. While the team seemed to be all puffed up with energy after the good performance by the bowlers and the batsmen, who have played some really good innings at the Chinnaswamy pitch. With the onset of the day’s play, Australia was looking to stretch their lead to a stronghold, as they were having 48 runs lead over the home team.

However, the pre-lunch session of the day belonged to the Indian team and specially to the bowlers. Jadeja was just fabulous with the ball and claimed 3 more wickets to complete the innings with an outstanding figure of 6 for 63. After having put the whole Australian team back in the stands, the Indian openers came on the field. With the team trailing by 87 runs, all that the managers and the players would have expected from the players was to play safely and not throw away their wickets. The two openers, Mukund and Rahul have held on their nerves and played some outstanding cricket till the lunch break. At the lunch break, the scoreboard reads 38 without any loss and the team trailing by 49 runs.

After having one of the most disappointing series at home, the Indian team have finally got some reason to be a happy about. The team would now want to put up as much run as they can on the board and then get the visitors going early to register the first win in the series.
