Materazzi And Chennaiyin No Longer Together


Materazzi and Chennaiyin FC have decided to part their ways. According to sources, the Italian player who had played for the team in the first season of the ISL and has been the manager in all the seasons till date will no longer be a part of the team. The shocking revelation stated that they were parting ways by mutual agreement.

While Materazzi is accepted to be the most successful manager of the ISL so far, his presence in the dugout had a huge impact on the players of the team. The player had taken the team to the semi-finals on the very first season of the ISL. In the second, he has been able to lift the morale of the team in the finals, after they were lagging behind and then went on to win the finals.

Talking about his departure from the Chennai, the co-owners of the Chennaiyin stated in a joint statement that Materazzi will always be one of the legends of the ISL. The statement further stated that Materazzi will always be remembered for the seasons that he has been a part of the team. Also, the player would always be warmly welcomed back to Chennai and especially to the Marina Arena.

Materazzi, on the other hand, stated that he is grateful that he was given the opportunity to shape India into a football loving nation. He also said that he is also grateful for having lived the birth and the growth of the Chennaiyin FC team. Recalling his days with the team, he said that being associated with the team over the sessions have been a great adventure. Describing the team, fans and the nation he said “Incredible team, Incredible fans, Incredible nation.”

With the omission of Materazzi from the side, it would be interesting to see how well the Chennaiyin performs in the upcoming season. How well the team would cope up for the next season would be something really interesting to watch out in the season.
