The English Team Scored A Convincing ODI Series Victory Against Bangladesh

The English team has played exceedingly well to win the three-match series against Bangladesh. The third ODI which the English team won saw two half-centuries from Ben Duckett and Sam Billings. England won this match handsomely by four wickets. This win enabled England to have a 2-1 lead and clinch the series.

In this third ODI, the host team put up a solid score of 277-6. However, the English team proved to be too good for them. The visiting team marched to victory with 13 balls in hand. The English team played consistently and were quite methodical in their approach. This series win by the English also put an end to the Bangladeshi team’s unbeaten record of winning in their last six bilateral series.

Englishman Ben Duckett made 63 runs in this game which happens to be his second half-century in the series. On the other hand, Billings who came in the place of injured Jason Roy added an invaluable 62 runs. These two knocks along with the knock off Ben Stokes (47 not out) put the British team on the advantage and gave them a solid edge and ultimately led them to win the match and the series. This series has attracted a lot of attention when in the second game a verbal spat broke out between the players of the host and the visiting team. Things didn’t seem to be good between the two teams after this incident but this situation didn’t appear to affect the outcome of Wednesday’s match. However in the third match there seemed to a slight skirmish between the players when Bangladesh captain collided with Billings in the third over and there was an exchange of words.

The Bangladeshi captain commenting on the incident said that the verbal spat he had with Billings did not have an impact on the match. He thought that his team played well in the match although they lost. According to the skipper, there was a lot of dew at the end of the match which had a negative impact on their spin bowlers. Mortaza said that because of the dew his spin bowlers could not grip the ball well.

On the other hand, the opening partnership of 63 runs between Billings and James Vince gave the visitors the solid start they needed. This happened to be Billings’s first match of the series.

The English skipper Jos Buttler in a post-match briefing stated that their team was both physically mentally strong. According to him the opening partnership “set the tone” for the match. He praised Sam Billings and Ben Duckett’s efforts.
